| From downtown Albany and I-787 | Take I-90 West to exit 4. Continue on Route 85 to the stop sign at the intersection of Rte 85 and Rte 443 (across from the Stewarts Shop). Turn right and follow Rte 85 twelve miles to Rensselaerville. At the stop sign in town look to the right. That's us. Parking is permitted on the street in the front of the inn. |
| From Montreal, Saratoga and the Albany Airport, and points north | Leave I-87 at exit 1E and proceed east on I-90 toward Albany for 1.7 miles to exit 4. Continue on Route 85 to the stop sign at the intersection of Rte 85 and Rte 443 (right at the Stewarts Shop). Turn right and follow Rte85 twelve miles to Rensselaerville. At the stop sign in town look to the right. That's us. |
| From Buffalo, Syracuse and points west | Exit NYS Thruway at exit 29 (Canajoharie), and follow State Rte 10 south through Sharon Springs until the intersection of State Rte 145. Proceed south on Rte 145 through Cobbleskill and continue on this Rte by turning right at the traffic light outside of Cobbleskill. Continue 7.3 miles to Middleburg. .... then follow directions below in "from points West and South" |
| From points West and South | Get off I-88 at exit 22. Take State Rte 145 south and go 7.3 miles (heading toward Middleburg). At the red blinking light turn left and follow signs for Rte 145 south. Proceed across the bridge and bear right into Middleburg. Follow Rte 145 for 9.3 miles until you reach Livingstonville. At interesction of Rte 145 and Schoharie County Rte 19A turn left (the sign is small, the turn is on the left side of the road). Proceed for 3.5 miles up Rte 19A until road changes route number to Albany County Rte 353. Continue on Rte 353 for 4.5 miles where you will enter the hamlet of Rensselaerville. Cross the bridge and the Catalpa House is on the left. |
| From New York City | Get off I-87, New York Thruway, at exit 21 (Catskill). Turn left after the tollbooth and proceed for .5 mile to the right turn entrance to State Route 23 West. Proceed west on Route 23 for approximately 8 miles; at the traffic light turn right onto State Route 32 for about 9 miles to Greenville (traffic light at intersection of Route 81). Stay on Route 32 for 2 miles after the traffic light to the intersection of Albany County Route 405 (just past Balsam Shade Resort). Turn left onto Route 405 and travel 4.5 miles until Route 405 and 402 intersect. Turn left, proceed .6 mile then bear right at fork, Route 402 extension, to Route 351. Bear right on Route 351 and proceed 4.4 miles to Rensselaerville. Once in the hamlet you will find the Catalpa House on your right at the intersection of Main Street and State Route 85. Street parking is permitted in front of our bead and breakfast. |
